Normal role description: | MYC induces expression of the E2F gene and this ultimately plays a role in the G1/S transition. Loss of function of the E2F gene may impair the ability of the cell to replicate. E2F has also been shown to interact with the RB1 gene and, through CIP1, removes the RB1 block of cell cycle progression. |
