Normal role description: | BUB1B is a protein-serine/threonine kinase. It is an essential component of mitotic checkpoint. It prevents progression of anaphase until all the sister chomatids are connected to spindles by binding to CDC20 to anaphase promoting complex/cycolsome thus inhibiting it. It is also involved in localization of CENPE, a kinetochore motor that performs kinetochore functions. Other functions include suppression of centrosome amplification, negative regulation of PLK1 in intephase and trigger apoptosis in polyploid cells. |
