Normal role description: | Binds catenins and thereby contributes to stabilization of adherens junctions. Is involved in rearrangement of actin cytoskeleton through regulation of Rho family members. Stabilizes E-Cadherin, a tumour suppressor and may be further involved in tumour and metastasis suppression. Loss or downregulation of expression of p120 is often found in various types of cancers. May interact with transcriptional repressor Kaiso in the Wnt-pathway (hyperactive in colon cancer) and was suggested to be required in anchor-independet growth. |
