Normal role description: | SORBS2 is an adaptor protein that links ABL kinases and cytoskeletal actin. It promotes the degradation of ABL1 via CBL-mediated ubiquination and subsequent proteolysis by the proteasome. SORBS2 exhibits anti-apoptosis activity via activation of PAK1. However, it can also bind vinculin and inhibit cell migration. Expression of SORBS2 is repressed in pancreatic cancer. A t(4;11)(q35;q23) translocation with MLL has been associated with acute myeloid leukemia. |
