UniProt ID: O95996
Locus ID: 10297
COSMIC ID: APC2

Normal role description: APC2 is related to APC in many aspects and has many of the same functions. A difference exists in the C-termini region of APC2 that allows for p53 binding. APC2 can bind β-catenin and regulate its phosphorylation and ubiquintination. Inactivating mutations in related APC genes leads to cancer by accumlation of β-catenin leading to activation of cellular transformation signals.
