Normal role description: | THBS1 is an adhesive glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions. It is capable of binding fibrinogen, fibronectin, laminin, heparin, type V collagen and integrins alpha-V/beta-1. It has been shown to play a role in platelet aggregation, and in the inhibition of angiogenesis, and of tumorigenesis. It may also play a role in dentinogenesis and in the maintenance of dentin and dental pulp. |
Commentary on involvement of protein in cancer: | 1 pharyngeal sample (out of 4 total UAT samples) was also mutated (mis-sense) |
