Normal role description: | Receptor for insulin-like growth factor-2. Also a receptor for mannose 6-phosphate. It is involved in many functions including lysosomal enzyme trafficking, activation of TGFb, fetal organogenesis, cytotoxic T cell induced apoptosis and IGF2 degradation. Reduced expression is seen in cancers and prevents production of TGFb degradation of IGF2 to inhibit cell growth. |
