Normal role description: | DDX5 is a member of the DEAD box RNA helicases. It is involved in pre-mRNA splicing by regulating splicosome assembly and splice site selection in growth related genes and translational regulation with transcription factors such as p53 and by chromatin remodeling, alterations of RNA secondary structures and ribosome assembly. In cancers its phosphorylation is correlated with metastasis. |
