Normal role description: | ABCB4 mediates ATP-dependent export of organic anions and drugs from the cytoplasm. It hydrolyzes ATP with low efficiency and mediates the translocation of phosphatidylcholine across the canalicular membrane of the hepatocyte into bile. Human MDR3 is reported to not be capable of conferring drug resistance. |
