Normal role description: | HOXA9 is a sequence-specific transcription factor which plays a role in regulating development and provides cells with positional identities along the anterior-posterior axis. It can be regulated by PKC phosphorylation and evidence suggests that PKC regulates HOXA9 in myeloid cell proliferation and differentiation. Ectopic expression of HOXA9 in ovarian surface epithelial cells gave rise to papillary tumors. |
