Normal role description: | CDA is an enzyme that utilizes exogenous and endogenous cytidine and 2'-deoxycytidine for UMP synthesis. It deaminates cytidine or deoxycytidine to uridine and deoxyuridine respectively via a hydrolysis reaction. It can also inactivate cytosine arabinoside, a chemotherapeutic nucleoside analog for the treatment of certain childhood leukmias. |
