Normal role description: | Inhibits the DNA-binding activity of C/EBP and LAP by forming heterodimers that cannot bind DNA. DDIT3 promotes adipogenesis, erythropoiesis apoptosis, and is involved in the endoplasmic reticulum stress response. Decreasing expression related to malignant transformation of nevi to melanomas. Mechanism of oncogensis with chimeric proteins could be mediated by loss of function of wild-type DDIT3. |
