Normal role description: | MYH11 is myosin belonging to the heavey chain family and it is found in smooth muscle. MYH11 functions as a major contractile protein, using ATP hydrolysis to convert chemical engery into mechanical. Myosin is integral to the actin-myosin contractile cycle found in myocytes. Translocations, t(16;16)(p13;q22), and deletions, (16)(q22), have been foudn in acute non lymphoblastic leukaemia (ANLL) or myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) patients. |
