Normal role description: | THBS3 is a extracellular glycoprotein which mediates cell-cell and cell-extracellular interactions. THBS3 forms a pentameric structure which are held together by inter chain disulphide linkages. Primarily mis-sense mutations of THBS3 have been detected in cancer, however these have been characterized functionally. Due to THBS3's role in promoting cell adhesion and mediating cell-cell contact dysfunction of THBS3 may contribute to increased metastasis of cancer. |
