Normal role description: PXN is a cytoskeletal protein involved in actin-membrane attachment of cell adhesion to extracellular matrix sites. It is also involved in regualtin of adhesion, motility and survival of the cell. Interactions with SRC and other molecules can induce cell motility via MAPK pathway. In lung cancer it is found to be overexpressed and contribute to cell growth, proliferation and invasion.
