Normal role description: | MAPK12 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase. Part of the p38 stress pathway which prevents cell cycle progression. Many cancer cells will upregulate MAPK12 activity to kill cancer cells. Loss of function may be important to confer survival and inhibit apoptosis for tumour cells. |
