Normal role description: | LOXL3 is a member of the lysyl oxidase family and is importants for the biogenesis of connective tissue. It is an extracellular Copper-dependent amine oxidase responsible for catalyzing the first step in the formation of collagen-elastin cross-links. It may also play a role in developmental regulation, senescence, cell growth control, and chemotaxis via its N-terminus domains. It has been found to interact with SNAI1 to downregulate E-cadherin expression, and overexpression of the proten in MDCK epithelial cells induces an epithelial-mesenchymal transition process. |
