Normal role description: | MAP3K10 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase involved in the JNK signalling pathway leading to c-Jun activation. MAP3K10 will activate JNK by phosphorylation. JNK signalling is found to promote apoptosis, neurodegeneration, cell differentiation and inflammation. As MAP3K10 is an important mediator of the pro-apoptotic JNK signalling pathway it may have a role as a tumour supressor protein. Mis-sense mutations have been observed in metastatic melanomas but have not been characterized functionally. |
