Normal role description: | BOP1 is WD40 repeat containing protein localized to the nucleus. It fuctions in ribosome biogenesis by promoting the maturation of 25S and 5.8S rRNAs as well as chromosome segregation. Overexpression of BOP1 results in multipolar spindles which may lead to aberrant segregation of chromosomes and aneuploidy. Aberrant expression of BOP1 has been has been implicated in colorectal cancer. |
