Number AA: 893
UniProt ID: Q14764
Locus ID: 9961
COSMIC ID: MVP
Gene location on chromosome: 16p11.2

Normal role description: MVP is a transport protein involved in bi-directional nucleocytoplasmic transport of a wide range of substrate both vesicular and cytoplasmic. It may be responsible for drug resistance and lead to poor response to chemotherapy. It can mediate signal transduction by acting as a scaffolding protein and down regulate INFG mediated STAT1 signalling, downregulation of SRC through MAPK, and activation of JAK.
