Normal role description: | GTPase-activating protein for G protein, ARF. ACAP1 primary substrate is ARF6 and induces protein recycling between plasma membrane, recycling endosomes and trans-golgi network. Its GAP activity is dependent on interactions with phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) and phosphatidic acid. Recycling of integrins and other adhedsion molecules from the cell surface promotes cell migration in cancer via phosphorylation of ACAP1 by AKT. |
