Normal role description: | Il17A is a pro-inflamatory cytokine that is produced by T-cells. THis protein regulates NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinase. IL17A seems to play a dual role as both tumour suppressor and oncoprotein, which is likely due distinct roles of IL17A and IL17A-producing cells in different tumors. Its deregulation is implicated in a number of neoplasms, including: including ovarian, pancreatic, renal cell, prostate, gastric, and hepatocellular cancers. |
