Normal role description: | RBBP6 is a E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that ubiquitinates YBX1, a putative anti-metastatic protein, and targets it for degradation by the proteasome. It may also be a negative regulator of p53/TP53 by acting as a scaffold protein to promote the assembly of the p53/TP53-MDM2 complex, which would increase MDM2-mediated ubiquination and degradation of p53. This would promote cell proliferation and tumour growth. |
