Normal role description: | MLL5 is a histone methyltransferase that specifically mono- and dimethylates histone H3 (Lys-4). Involved in cell cycle regulation. Suppresses expression of S-phase genes. Knockdown was shown to induce cell cycle arrest in G1 and G2/M phase cells and overexpression inhibits cell cycle progression. |
