Normal role description: | Bcl protein - proapoptic. When dephosphorylated and in its active form, Bad primarily binds to Bcl-X, and to a lesser extend to Bcl-2 and Bcl-W, thereby inhibiting their antiapoptotic function. Phosphorylted Bad binds to 14-3-3 proteins and is inactivated. Proteins that phosphorylate Bad involve PKA, AKT/PKB and RAF1. |
