Normal role description: | DLX4 plays a role in forebrain and cranicofacial development, cell survival and proliferation and reduced apoptosis. It has been found to positively regulate Bcl-2 expression, decrease caspase 7, 8 and 9 cleavage to develop resistance to apoptosis. It has also been found to increase expression of PARP and decrease expression of BRCA1. Dysregulation can lead to increased cell proliferation in cancers. |
