Normal role description: WDR77 is a WD40 domain repeat containing protein found in the PRMT5 methyltransferase complex in the nucleus. WDR77 was found to interact histone H2A was may target the complex to histones. In prostate and testicular cancer WDR77 was found to translocate to the nucleus and act as a coactivator of the androgen-receptor. Activation of the androgen-receptor may promote cell growth and proliferation in cancer cells.
