Normal role description: | RHOBTB2 is a monomeric GTPase from the Rho family that functions as an adapter protein for cullin-3, a ubiquitin E3 ligase necessary for mitotic cell division. Homozygous deletions of the gene have been seen in breast cancer tumours, and it is thus considered a candidate tumour suppressor. It has also been found to inhibit the growth and metastasis of certain subsets of breast cancer. |
Commentary on involvement of protein in cancer: | Only 2 ovarian cancer samples were included in Sanger COSMIC. 1/200 lung cancer samples were also mutated. |
