Alias: Scurfin
Mass (Da): 47244
Number AA: 431
UniProt ID: Q9BZS1
Locus ID: 50943
COSMIC ID: FOXP3
Gene location on chromosome: Xp11.23

Normal role description: FOXP3 is a X-linked transcriptional regulator of the forkhead/winged-helix family. It is crucial in regulation of function and development of regulatory T cells. Interacts with and inhibits transcription activity of ERBB2 and SKP2, which leads to inhibition of cell growth in breast cancer cells. Deletion and LOH common in breast tumors, 80% were shown to have decreased FOXP3 expression.
