Normal role description: PARVB is an actin binding protein that regulates cytoskeleton organization and cell adhesion. It can regulate integrin-linked kinase inhibition activity, reduce AKT phosphorylation through protein interaction, regulate Rac1 signalling, and activate PPARg transcription. Reduced expression or deletion of gene is often seen in breast cancer and is associated with ILK overexpression resulting in dysregulation of cell adhesion and promotion of cell migration.
