Cancer Protein Description

This report provides a detailed description of a selected cancer protein with information collected from various sources, including UniProt, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute’s Catalogue of Somatic Mutations in Cancer (COSMIC), and the Atlas of Genetics and Cytogenetics in Oncology and Haematology.

Mass (Da): 42013
Number AA: 371
UniProt ID: Q9HC73
Locus ID: 64109
COSMIC ID: CRLF2
Gene location on chromosome: Xp22.3; Yp11.3

Commonly recorded point mutations: F232C (10)
Deregulated in translocations: P2RY8/CRLF2 fusion in 7% of individuals with B-progenitor ALL and in 53% of individuals with ALL associated with Down syndrome.
Normal role description: CRLF2 is a receptor for thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP). Together with the IL-7 receptor and TSLP, CRLF2 activates STAT3/5, and JAK2 pathways, regulating cell proliferation and development of the hematopoietic system. Mutations of the gene are implicated in B-progenitor ALL.
