Normal role description: | NLRC4 is involved in forming an inflammasome complex in response to flagellin. Formation of the complex induces cleavage of caspase-1 to cleave and activate IL-1B. It is also involved in apoptosis induced by p53. Loss of NLRC4 promotes oncogenesis during inflammation by reduced apoptosis rates and increased proliferation of epithelial cell in colitus induced colorectal cancer mice models. |
