Normal role description: | TCF7L2 is a transcription factor that plays a role as a modulator of Myc expression in the Wnt signalling pathway. It can act as a repressor or an activator, depending on the presence of CTNNB1. Dominant-negative mutants result in cell-cycle arrest in G1. Constitutive activation leads to the maintenance of stem-cell characteristics in cells fated for terminal differentiation and leads to the transformation of colorectal cancer cells. |
