Normal role description: | PIM2 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase implicated in cell survival and proliferation signalling. It regulations MYC transcription and stabilization by phosphorylation. It also prevents apoptosis by phosphorylating and inactivating BAD, a proapoptotic protein. It induces cell survival and proliferation signals via NF-KB cascade and phosphorylation of CDKN1A and CDKN1B. Dysregulation of PIM2 can promote cell proliferation and resistance to apoptosis and oncogenesis |
