Normal role description: | PAK7 is a serine/theonine protein kinase activated by Rac/cdc42 and thus involved in regulation of cytoskeleton, cell surival and proliferation through RAF1 signalling. It phosphosphorylates BAD and prevents apoptosis. It is also involved in microtuble stablization, neurite outgrowth and development. It can destablize F-acting networks and eliminate stress fibres and focal adhesions. Pak7 expression provides a survival and could contribute to oncogenesis in this way. |
