Normal role description: PPP1R1B is a protein serine/threonine phosphatase regulatory protein that specifically inhibits protein-phosphatase 1. It has been shown to be overexpressed in gastric cancers, thus the suggestion that PPP1R1B provides an important survival advantage to neoplastic cells. It may confer anti-apoptotic function by increasing Bcl-2 expression levels.
