Normal role description: ITGA11 is a cell-surface receptor for collagen in the extracellular matrix. It may be involved in cell attachment, migration, and collagen reorganization on mesenchymal non-muscle cells. Overexpression of ITGA11 was implicated in non-small cell lung cancer. It appears that increased expression can also upregulate IGF2, which can in turn stimulate tumour epithelial cell growth and metastasis.
